This easy homemade bread recipe uses bread flour, instant yeast, Kosher salt, and room temperature water. It's very simple to make and will fill your house with the most wonderful bread smell! This bread is perfect as a side for soups and stews, to eat with butter or jam as a snack, and for sandwiches.

Gather up your ingredients.

In a large bowl, whisk together the bread flour, instant yeast, and Kosher salt.
Make a well in the center and pour in the room temperature water.

Mix the ingredients together until the dough is fully moist and easy to shape into a round ball.
Using your hands, form a round ball of dough in the bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and leave on the counter for 3 hours to allow the dough to rise.

Once the dough has risen, cover and refrigerate 12 hours or up to 2 days.

Remove the chilled dough and sprinkle flour on a work surface. Then sprinkle corn meal and a bit more flour on a baking sheet.
Remove the dough from the bowl and cut into equal halves.

Shape the dough into long loaves on the sheet pan, resting at least 4 inches apart. Loosely cover the dough with plastic wrap and allow to set at room temperature for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.
Remove the plastic wrap and score the loaves in three different sections, about ½ inch deep.

Bake for approximately 20-25 minutes, until crust is golden brown.
Let cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet before removing to a wire rack. After 5 more minutes on the wire rack, the bread is ready for slicing.
