Instant Pot Quinoa

Instant Pot Quinoa

Instant Pot quinoa takes only one minute to make. Quinoa is packed full of protein, vitamin B, and fiber. It’s such a versatile grain. I love make it ahead and use it for meal prep lunches. Of course it’s great as as side for dinner or as part of a tasty salad as well.

Gather up your ingredients:

Ingredients for Instant Pot Quinoa

HINT: For the liquid, you can use plain water with pinch of Kosher salt, chicken broth or stock, beef broth or stock, or vegetable stock.

I like the flavor chicken stock lends to the quinoa and often times I’m pairing it with chicken, either in a salad or as a side dish.

Rinse the quinoa, add it to the pot, add the liquid, seal the pot and set the Instant Pot to cook for one minute on high pressure. Make sure the vent is set to seal. The pot will take a few minutes to come to pressure.

Once the one minute is up, let the pressure release naturally. Carefully remove the lid, fluff with a fork.

The best way I have found to store cooked quinoa is in plastic bags, laid flat with the air removed. Label and store your quinoa in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.

To reheat quinoa, add 1 tablespoon of water for each 1 cup of quinoa and put it in a microwave safe bowl covered with a paper towel. You want the quinoa covered but you also want the steam to escape. Heat on high for for one minute, give it a stir, then repeat for 30 seconds each time until desired temperature is reached.
