There’s nothing better than a spaghetti sauce that simmers all day long. Or is there? How about a spaghetti sauce that tastes like it’s been simmering all day long but really only cooked for 30 minutes in an Instant Pot? Yes…
Gather up your ingredients:
Set the Instant Pot on saute and add some olive oil. Once it’s hot, add the ground beef and brown it nicely. While the ground beef is cooking, chop the onion and garlic. When the ground beef is mostly cooked, add the onion and garlic and stir it all together. Let cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onion and garlic begin to soften.
Turn the pot off. Now add all the rest of the ingredients.
Give it a good stir. Put the lid on, set to pressure cook for 30 minutes and allow for natural release. It’s that easy. And the sauce will taste like it has cooked all day!Print
Instant Pot Spaghetti Sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 clove garlic
1 28 ounce can tomato puree
1/2 can water (use the tomato puree can)
1 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 cup good red wine
1/2 tablespoon Kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons dried parsley
1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
Set the Instant Pot on saute and warm the olive oil.
Add ground beef, cook most of the way through.
While the ground beef is cooking, chop the onion and garlic.
Add onion and garlic to the Instant Pot, stir and cook 2-3 minutes until onion begins to soften and meat looks cooked through.
Turn off the Instant Pot.
Add the remainder of ingredients.
Stir and set Instant Pot on high for 30 minutes.
Allow natural release.
